I've found a few writing contests/workshops this week, including some at Kristan Hoffman's website, so I figured I'd share some of them.
1) The Smithsonian Resident Associate Program, an educational and cultural outreach program of the Smithsonian Institute will be hosting a How To Write a Romance Novel all-day seminar in Washington D.C. on March 27. I'm nowhere near D.C. but if you are ticket prices are as follows: $86 for members, $76 for senior members, and $131 for general admission. Thanks to the folks at Book Binge for the tip.
2) The 7th Glass Woman contest is now open until March 21. The prize will be awarded to works of short fiction or creative non-fiction by a woman. The grand prize is $600 and possible online publication. Further details are at the contest website. I think I might enter this one.
3) Writer Unboxed is looking for unpublished writers to contribute every month. They want one permanent contributor and a group of stable writers to post as well. The not-so-firm deadline is March 7. I wish I could say I'd try this, but I don't have the time or the guts. If you do, just head on over to Writer Unboxed.
